Empowering Community Driven Solutions

On this episode, I have a conversation with Lauren O'Neill, Co-founder and Senior Consultant for the Non Profit Organization called The Solidarity Project. The Solidarity Project is an organization that focuses on supporting Honduran leaders who create positive social change for their very own communities. They focus on cultivating real and lasting partnerships that are built on trust, equality, and solidarity.

Lauren explains how growing up in the catholic school system influenced and inspired her service mindset. We speak about how as white women from the united states, it was very important for Lauren and her teammates to understand the culture, lifestyles, and innate mindsets of those we serve.

During this episode, we talk about…

  • Growing up in the catholic school system and how it inspired her service mindset.

  • How 5 women from the United States dreamed about founding The Solidarity Project for 5 years

  • How they utilize a micro-granting model similar to the Detroit Soup model to raise money for community inspired projects

  • Deep rooted patriarchy in the communities of Honduras and how TSP strives to give women a powerful voice to uplift their communities

  • and much more…
